As Spring Bank Holiday approaches and schools start to break up for half term, many of us are looking forward to a fun, relaxing weekend with our family and friends.

We know how important it is to make the most out of those extra days off so we’ve put together for you a series of our favourite Road Trip destinations to inspire you this bank holiday weekend!

Up next in the series is a trip that takes you out of the busy streets of London and into the stunning, historical city of Canterbury.

London to Canterbury

1hr 28 minutes

Distance: 62.5 miles

A popular historical city in South East Kent, Canterbury is a great place to spend your weekend away. At the centre is its most famous attraction — Canterbury Cathedral — you can join one of the visitor tours to learn more about Canterbury’s heritage or take a wander through the grounds to admire its amazing architecture.

Enjoy many attractive walks around the cobbled streets or if you are on a family trip, take a relaxing boat tour along the River Stour where you will get to see some of Canterbury’s most historic sights.

This city has plenty of places to eat including family-run restaurants like Pinocchio’s who serve the most delicious, seasonal Italian food, or maybe Cafe Mauresque and their flavoursome Moroccan dishes might take your fancy. In the evening why not take a stroll through town and try a local pub, with many hosting great live music along with quizzes and other events.
