Monumental EV Car Club Trial Launches in Hackney

Hiyacar is helping provide Hackney residents with affordable access to electric vehicles, through a fantastic EV car club trial in partnership with Hackney Council. We’ll be supplying 10 MG ZS EVs as part of this 12 month trial, which can be found across the borough in spots on Lavender Grove, Buckingham Road, Wilton Way, Reading Lane, Blurton Road, Downs Park Road, Winston Road, Albion Drive, Wetherell Road and Clermont Road.

This is a monumental trial both for us at Hiyacar, as it’s our first EV car club trial with a London borough within the ULEZ Zone, and for Hackney Council, as it fits with their incredible goal of having 50% of all their car clubs to be zero emission at tailpipe, by 2025. We’re very proud to be working with Hackney Council on this - Hackney is a borough long known for its innovation in terms of mobility solutions and their support for car clubs.

The rental price of the electric vehicles in this trial will include EV charging, cover by our bespoke car sharing insurance, as well as car cleaning and maintenance. Those wishing to make use of the EVs in this trial, can do so by downloading the Hiyacar app, if they’re not already a member and signing up for free. Or, verified Hiyacar members can search for and book these vehicles as they would do with other Hiyacar rentals - for as little as £4/hour or £40/day, with a 50% discount for weekday bookings.
