Hiyacar launches exciting new car club in Waltham Forest

The 17th May will see Waltham Forest residents gain access to affordable car club vehicles, supplied by the UK’s longest trading peer-to-peer car sharing platform, Hiyacar. Hiyacar, also a CoMoUK accredited car club, will be providing 10 vehicles, which will be located in numerous locations across the borough.

These car club cars will be found on: Clarence Road, Barrett Road, Haroldstone Road, Woodstock Road, King Edward Road, Aylmer Road, Esther Road, Sunnyside Road, Wesley Road and Belgrave Road.

Hiyacar is excited to be providing residents of this borough with the opportunity to hire affordable, conveniently-located vehicles, the rental price of which will also include insurance, car cleaning and maintenance.

The launch of this car club is a great step forward, providing those in Waltham Forest with access to yet more accessible, affordable transport options. Car clubs such as this, are a great way to get cars off the road; lessening the need for private or single-use car ownership, and helping reduce air pollution and congestion, and Hiyacar is proud to be helping facilitate this change.

CEO and co-founder of Hiyacar, Graeme Risby, says of the car club trial:

We’re very excited about the launch of this car club in Waltham Forest - it is great to be working with the London Borough of Waltham Forest on this, providing their residents with more affordable transport options. Car clubs are a great way for London boroughs to help decrease private car ownership as well as offering those without a car, access to one when and where they need it.

Cllr Clyde Loakes, Deputy Leader of the Council shared:

This launch once more demonstrates our continuing commitment to make Waltham Forest a green place to live, work and visit. So many of our residents are already car free, with more and more following in their footsteps, making a hugely positive impact on our borough. Hiyacar will give even more residents the opportunity to go car free, but still have the option to drive if and when they need it. Car Clubs complement Waltham Forest’s pioneering and leading work on improving the priority and infrastructure that helps more residents to walk and cycle more of their local journeys.’

Those wishing to make use of the cars in this trial, can download the Hiyacar app and sign up for free as a Hiyacar member, and rent them for as little as £4/hour or £48/day.
