What do we stand for?
When we started Hiyacar three years ago, our mission was and has remained, to help people turn their cars into assets by sharing them with their community. Owners make extra income from their car when they’re not using it and drivers get access to local cars without the commitment or headache of traditional rental companies. Everybody wins.
Fast forward three years and providing financial and literal freedom to both sides of our community is at the heart of everything we do. We’re also driven by our mission to do more with less and reduce the rows of parked cars filling up our cities every single day, that’s why true peer to peer is our goal. Simply putting shiny new fleets of cars on the road in car clubs, or pooling large fleets of existing hire cars does not benefit communities or cities. We’ve created a real neighbour to neighbour car sharing network, powered by our community.

We’re committed to working in partnership with every owner that lists their car on Hiyacar. We’re constantly refining our platform to make it the best it can be for our community, we regularly ask our owners for feedback and are able to make quick changes to our platform based on the ideas we’ve had from our community.
As a car owner on Hiyacar you’re in complete control. You have the freedom to set your own price, availability and terms. We believe in our mission and all that it takes to achieve this, we’ll never remove your freedom and restrict where you can, or can’t list your vehicle. It’s your car and we believe you should be able to do what you want with it.
We work with you to drive demand in your local area, with true peer to peer, you only really need a few regular drivers sharing your car to cover the costs of ownership. We’ll help you find those drivers by giving you the tools to market your car in your local community.
Trusted community
For the safety of all the vehicles on our platform, we have built a unique seven stage verification process including facial recognition. A driver must pass every stage of our verification process, otherwise, they can’t hire your car. Our insurance is in partnership with AXA, this means that every hire is fully insured and covered by roadside assistance in case of any breakdown.
Our keyless technology QuickStart offers car owners extra safety, flexibility and convenience. You no longer have to be around for the key handover (unless you want to) as drivers can unlock your car via our app and we keep an eye on your car via our GPS-enabled box.
