"It was extremely frustrating as the car is parked in an internet dead zone. I kept having to go up to the top end of the street, furthest away from the car, to be able to get some sort of reception. This was the same for both pick up and drop off which added half an hour extra each time. The first car I hired there was no issue with the internet so worked smoothly. You really need to look at where the car parking is and the internet reception. The car was also a bit dirty inside but that's not much of an issue compared.
This will definitely make me think twice about using Hiyacar's own cars in the future."

"The car is absolutely filthy and smells really bad.
Also there is no windscreen cleaning liquid (lady time we got the car was the same and it was more than a month ago).
If it wasn't because it was an emergency I would have cancelled the booking straight away"

"[July 2025] Reduction in stars for Driver car door not opening from the outside and the general state of the body which has its fair share of dings and bruises. It could use a wash, also, it kept dropping my Android Play which affected my experience.
But the car drives absolutely fine and the AC works well."

"Very easy pickup and drop off process. Unfortunately the air conditioning didn't work on a hot day, the Bluetooth wouldn't stay connected, the car was slightly unclean and the driver door doesn't open from the outside. Except for those issues I would give this 5/5."

"The car wasn't the cleanest, and it is very gutless and slow especially on the motorway or up steep hills.
The tracking is also out and I think it might need a new wheel bearing."

"Total rip off.
I was charged £20 to add 15 mins extra and my initial booking was only £23. Then because the petrol tank was just over half full I was charged £13.50 for petrol and £20 admin fee. Absolutely rip off and can’t believe the additional costs I was charged. Will definitely be deleting my account."

"Really lovely car to drive. Very smooth and simple tech for connecting my phone etc which was such a plus. Very grateful for the a/c on a hot day. I’d absolutely book again. As a hybrid it was of course super fuel efficient.
The only downside, and certainly not the end of the world, was that it was very dirty inside and out and there was no screen wash. Hard to avoid the dirty windows as parked under a tree but a shame I couldn’t wash it off a bit."

"Car was very dirty and almost empty of fuel. Had to fill it up and clean the windows myself. Very hard to find a parking spot at the end of the booking."

"The vehicle had several issues: the most serious was that it wouldn’t start this morning when we wanted to set off back to London. It eventually did, but it was very worrying and stressful as we were in the middle of nowhere. I think this is related to wider engine trouble as the vehicle didn’t seem to be accelerating very well up hills in particular.
The second thing is that the touch screen computer wasn’t working so I couldn’t control the ventilation or any other features. The air con was on full blast when I picked up the car and had no ability to change it, which meant a very loud and cold journey. This was distracting.
I’d appreciate a partial refund as compensation for these issues."
