"Sat nav didn't track the cars position at all just stayed at last place. The charge card didnt work... because i went to the wrong charge place because guess what, the satnav didn't work. And after i went into my extended time. The virtual key on the app didn't work and i had to reach out to customer service which was prompt but i would have preferred speaking to someone. Then when i ended the service the car wouldn't let me lock with virtualkeyerror. So i waited around for five minutes writing this to wait for it to auto lock itself."

"Absolutely to be avoided. It’s simply impossible to charge this car without the necessary cable which doesn’t come with the car. Also even if you manage to get a spot to charge it will take hours."

"Fantastic vehicle. Great service as always from HiyaCar team. Unlocking/ locking the car wasn’t as seamless as it could be but this may be down to my phone/ network rather than HiyaCar so no points lost there."

"Lovely, well maintained vehicle! Clearer instructions on charging expectation would be helpful. Sat Nav disconnected during journeys but all mobiles can connect to car easily. Brilliant drive on motorways and inner city roads. Spacious boot for family of 3/4 luggage if being used for weekend/camping/caravan holidays. Really good price"

"Nice car and very convenient. My only criticisms are (I) that it was only 60% charged when I picked it up (and so was a bit tight to get to where I wanted to go - I hadn’t left time to charge it) and (ii) that I could find no instructions (in the car or in the app as to how to charge it - like I suspect many users I hadn’t hired an electric car before and could have done with some advice and a map of suitable charge points."

"Very disappointed. Car was only a quarter charged and I had to travel to Northampton. Ended up using a different car as could find a suitable charging point local to me. Waste of my time."

"The car decided to not accept four different charge points I tried, and then had a control fault which meant it couldn't be started or moved. Stuck at a service station, 4 hours later, the AA said it was because this car occasionally needs to be charged with its own slow charge cable. But the cable is not supplied with the car. Not my first electric hire, but providing the basics, like its own charging cable are musts, and their omission made this the worst hire car experience I've ever had"

"First time booking electric with Hiyacar after DriveNow left London. Booking went well however when asking information about return charge levels, we were given incorrect information by HiyaCar Agents (We were told we had to return with same level or more). This meant we extended our booking to TRY and charge, however the local chargers only charge at < 10% per hour which means you need to extend your rental if the charge drops below 40% (Seems there are no local fast chargers so beware).
For this service to be useable we would expect to be able to drop the car off at its 'home' location, where it can be plugged in so the rental can be ended, with the car being charged.
The Navigation system in the car freezes the location as soon as you try starting a navigation and the unit needs rebooting - This means you can't look for charging points using the in car navigation.
Not knowing the charge before pickup could be a massive problem if you need to drive any distance."
