Project Background
East Ayrshire Council and Coalfield Community Transport have partnered to launch a community focussed electric car club to improve connectivity and accessibility between our rural communities in Cumnock and Doon Valley.
The project is funded through the Ayrshire Growth Deal: Community Renewable Energy (CoRE) (Community Renewable Energy Project · East Ayrshire Council) which aims to support our region’s shift towards clean, affordable and sustainable energy.
Transport is our greatest source of emissions in East Ayrshire and across Scotland. The car club will provide affordable and convenient access to electric vehicles, to help reduce vehicle emissions and improve local air quality within our communities, while making it easier for members to travel for work, leisure and daily life.
