Things To Do in Enfield
The Whitewebbs Museum of Transport
As car enthusiasts here at hiyacar, it wouldn’t be right to not recommend the Museum of Transport. This place is the catalyst behind the yearly Pageant of Motoring on Enfield Playing Fields. The museum is within a pumping station build in 1898 and boasts an amazing collection of motorbikes, vintage vans, classic cars, fire engines and even a model railway. It’s open every Tuesday and the last Sunday of the month for just £4 entry, kids have free entry.
Grovelands Park
This park is a perfect way to spend the day if you’re looking for some fresh air and a stroll. It was previously a private estate, but is now a Priory Clinic and the grounds are open to the public. During the summer, there is a pitch and putt, football pitches, and children’s playground.
The Crown and Horseshoes
Once you’ve finished driving for the day, consider a drink in this lovely pub. It’s located on the New River in the back streets of Enfield Town. When drinking here, it’s easy to forget you’re in London. It has a huge beer garden by the water as well, which is ideal for the summer.
Hot Air Balloon Festival
This is not a year round activity, but if you’re lucky to be in the area at the right time you should check out the Hot Air Balloon Festival. This is the only festival like this in London and makes for a great activity for adults and families alike.
