Things To Do in Wimbledon
This is the largest area of heathland on London, with over 1,100 acres. It’s so big it actually merges with Putney Heath in the north and is separated from Richmond Park by the A3 in the west. Given its size, you’d be able to spend days walking in the heath and woodland - pretty amazing for the middle of the city!
This is the very first Thai Buddhist temple that was built in the UK. In 1966 the King and Queen of Thailand inaugurated the beautiful structure. Originally, the temple was in East Sheen, but was moved to its current location in 1976. The black bronze Buddha, given by the Kind in 1966, and the gold Buddha, are sites to see.
New Wimbledon Theatre
This grade II listed building is an iconic landmark in the area. Opened in 1910, the Edwardian Baroque venue has a gold statue of the Roman goddess Laetitia above its entrance.
