"This was my 1st time ever to rent a car while my own car was in garage..I needed it mainly to commute to work.
The car is great and overall the process to hire was soo easy..

"This car flashed with a warning sign half way through driving, to say there were engine issues. The automatic function on the car failed to shift through the gears and I was stuck struggling to do 40mph on the motorway for the best part of an hour. The engine was running extremely high revs for a lot of the journey and felt like it was in gear 2-3 for that whole time. Fuel levels also plummeted from half, to almost empty because of this. Tried the cars manual mode but no difference. Also not enough wiper fluid, and no tools for getting rid of ice and snow - spent the first 45 minutes heating the car and wiping down by hand. Refueled and last hour of the journey seemed ok, warning light disappeared. But please, please can this car be checked before the next driver hires it."

"Pickup and dropoff was smooth. The car interior wasn't too clean. There was a tear on the tyre that made me think of the quality checks performed before rental. There were issues with locking and unlocking the car through the app it was slow and sometimes needed a second try. Lots of scope for improvement but overall an ok experience."

"Car was excellent but it needed several clicks on the “lock” button to close it!! Please check this as the car was for example unlocked when I got it and once I think I didn’t lock it properly. Sometimes I had to click up to 5 times."

"The car was good and runs well, only slight issue was that the windscreen washer was empty, which wasn’t ideal to discover half way up the M11 but easy enough to rectify. Interior was clean, but exterior and boot were quite dirty - but not a massive issue for us. Pick up and drop off process very straight forward - some minor issues with drop off but quickly sorted via Live Chat. Would use again."

"The car itself was fine, a little small and not the most comfortable view from the drivers seat to see speed and mileage etc. When we picked it up the floors were dirty but otherwise clean and tidy. The touch screen occasionally stopped working.
But the hiya car app has a lot of issues. Primarily the lock/unlock button doesn’t always work and this is critical since there is no real key.
When we tried to drop off the car and lock it it wouldn’t lock but since the app thought our lease had ended there was no way for us to try again. We had to wait (standing in the rain) until someone from the chat replied to us and tried to lock it, which took quite a while.
Overall it seems hiya car still has a lot of glitches."

"Car was sadly dirty when picked up so we left in same condition rather than taking through car wash as usual. We also left quite a bit extra fuel in yhe tank. Otherwise vehicle ran fine."
