"First the good: the car was basically brand new, so once up and running we had the pleasure of a great car for the day. The bad: (i) a message I sent enquiring about the pickup location 4 days in advance was never responded to, and (ii) all the fairly advanced electronics involved in the HiyaCar locking system was very difficult to work (they have taken away the key and everything is instead done by phone). I spent 5 minutes at the start of the day trying to open the boot, and then 30 minutes with the helpdesk at the end of the rental trying to work out how to turn the lights off, we succeeded in the end by rapidly flicking the ignition stop switch twice (could anyone really have been expected to have known that!). I would recommend more detailed instructions on how to manage the car are given next time, as all the faffing around trying to get it to work put a downer on an otherwise great little car."
